I\u2019ve been chair\u00ading the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oasis-open.org\/committees\/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=entity\">Entity Res\u00adol\u00adu\u00adtion Tech\u00adnic\u00adal Com\u00admit\u00adtee<\/a> since its incep\u00adtion way back in Octo\u00adber 2000 , work\u00ading with a good group of people. As Norm put it today, we\u2019d be happy to work on any stand\u00adard with this group. Every\u00adone work\u00ading togeth\u00ader, no pos\u00adtur\u00ading, no weird agen\u00addas, just people try\u00ading to find the best solu\u00adtion to a prob\u00adlem. It made the group easy to chair, and I\u2019m con\u00adfid\u00adent the res\u00adults reflect that; I can\u00ad\u2019t help but sus\u00adpect that dys\u00adfunc\u00adtion\u00adal com\u00admit\u00adtee polit\u00adics res\u00adults in spe\u00adcific\u00ada\u00adtions that are not as good as they could have&nbsp;been.<\/p>\n<p>So I\u2019m a little nos\u00adtal\u00adgic right now, remem\u00adber\u00ading the first dis\u00adcus\u00adsions, the meet\u00adings at con\u00adfer\u00adences, as well as the break we took in the middle before decid\u00ading to go for that \u201c<span class=\"caps\">OASIS<\/span> Stand\u00adard\u201d monik\u00ader. The <span class=\"caps\">TC<\/span> still has 3 of the <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.oasis-open.org\/archives\/members\/200010\/msg00002.html\">ori\u00adgin\u00adal 4 co-pro\u00adposers<\/a> (Norm Walsh, Paul Grosso, and me; John Cow\u00adan had to pull out part-way through due to work oblig\u00ada\u00adtions). New people joined, and oth\u00aders left, but over\u00adall we had a pretty stable group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So I want to thank the mem\u00adbers of the <span class=\"caps\">ER<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">TC<\/span>, both past and present, and also Mary McRae and Robin Cov\u00ader of <span class=\"caps\">OASIS<\/span>. Your good humour, desire to do the right thing, and will\u00ading\u00adness to put in the effort all meant a lot and made it pos\u00adsible to final\u00adize the spe\u00adcific\u00ada\u00adtion and show mem\u00adbers of <span class=\"caps\">OASIS<\/span> why it\u2019s use\u00adful. I\u2019d also like to thank the imple\u00adment\u00adors of the cata\u00adlog spec who proved that it\u2019s imple\u00adment\u00adable!
