North\u00adern Voice is Van\u00adcouver\u00ad\u2019s blog\u00adging con\u00adfer\u00adence, focus\u00adsing on per\u00adson\u00adal blog\u00adging. This means talks on how to solve some com\u00adpany\u2019s <span class=\"caps\">PR<\/span> prob\u00adlems are not really in scope, though tips on how to run a per\u00adson\u00adal blog when you\u2019re also an exec\u00adut\u00adive at a well-known com\u00adpany would be. We\u2019re doing the two-day ver\u00adsion again, where Moose\u00adCamp is an \u201cuncon\u00adfer\u00adence\u201d on Fri\u00adday Feb\u00adru\u00adary 23rd, 2007, and the con\u00adfer\u00adence prop\u00ader is on Sat\u00adurday Feb\u00adru\u00adary 24th,&nbsp;2007.<\/p>\n<p>In pre\u00advi\u00adous years we\u2019ve held the con\u00adfer\u00adence down\u00adtown in Van\u00adcouver, but we could\u00adn\u2019t get the space we wanted this year. So we\u2019re going out to the <span class=\"caps\">UBC<\/span> main cam\u00adpus, way out west in Van\u00adcouver, about as far west as you can go without fall\u00ading off into the Geor\u00adgia Strait (note, it\u2019s still in Van\u00adcouver prop\u00ader, south of the Lions Gate bridge). Cyp\u00adri\u00aden man\u00adaged to get us space in the Forestry Sci\u00adences Centre (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/88787641@N00\/pool\/\">pho\u00adtos<\/a>) so we can have all the space we need for talks and the self-organ\u00adized child\u00adcare. I think this will be a fun con\u00adfer\u00adence, par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly as I\u2019m not plan\u00adning on being any\u00adwhere else the week before. Last year I was jet\u00adlagged, hav\u00ading got back from a trip to Rome the night before, and I still had a good time at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Oth\u00ader mem\u00adbers of the organ\u00adising com\u00admit\u00adtee have blogged it already: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmannconsulting.com\/blog\/bmann\/get-your-moose-on-this-is-your-mothers-conference\">Bor\u00adis<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.elearning.ubc.ca\/brian\/archives\/032315.php\">Bri\u00adan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darrenbarefoot.com\/archives\/2006\/10\/the-moose-is-on-2.html\">Dar\u00adren<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kriskrug.com\/?p=1008\">Kris<\/a> all have their takes on what\u2019s import\u00adant about this conference.<\/p>\n<p>At the selec\u00adtion meet\u00ading I\u2019ll be look\u00ading for pro\u00adposed talks that cov\u00ader one or more of the groups of people we\u2019ll have in the audi\u00adence. As a side-note, please don\u2019t just say you can talk about any\u00adthing. That really does\u00adn\u2019t help us fig\u00adure out who should talk on what \u2014 if you have an idea and we think a vari\u00adant of it would work bet\u00adter, don\u2019t worry, we won\u2019t be shy in ask\u00ading you to change focus a bit! I expect we\u2019ll have few\u00ader new\u00adcomers to blog\u00adging, although we will have some of those; to make up for it I expect we\u2019ll have a cer\u00adtain num\u00adber of people who feel they\u2019ve already said everything that they can say and want to some tips on keep\u00ading up the excite\u00adment and interest in what they\u2019re blog\u00adging. We\u2019ll have some people who want tips on how to incor\u00adpor\u00adate pho\u00adtos, video, or audio bet\u00adter, and some who still aren\u2019t sure what style sheets are all about. In your speak\u00ader sub\u00admis\u00adsion, tell us who you\u2019re aim\u00ading at and what know\u00adledge they need (or don\u2019t); this will help us fig\u00adure out how to put everything togeth\u00ader. This is a fun and edu\u00adca\u00adtion\u00adal con\u00adfer\u00adence and good speak\u00aders are part of that, so please put a bit of time into those sub\u00admis\u00adsions to make it easi\u00ader for us to pick out the good speak\u00aders! The dead\u00adline is Novem\u00adber 28th, and this is a real dead\u00adline. Please do use the form and don\u2019t just send us email as we want to make sure we don\u2019t over\u00adlook any sug\u00adges\u00adted talks, or lose them in some\u00adbody\u2019s over-eager spam fil\u00adter.
