I noticed, how\u00adever, that it was\u00adn\u2019t exactly a very real\u00adist\u00adic test. If you read the page rather than just leap\u00ading to the video, you\u2019ll see the dis\u00adcus\u00adsion of an earli\u00ader <span class=\"caps\">MD-11<\/span> test where a woman over the age of 45 tripped and fell; bear that in mind when you watch the A\u2011380 evac\u00adu\u00adation&nbsp;video.<\/p>\n<p>What struck me about the video was that the evac\u00adu\u00adation was not only car\u00adried out in ideal con\u00addi\u00adtions, but the par\u00adti\u00adcipants were also all ideal. All between the ages of roughly 20 and 45, all wear\u00ading com\u00adfort\u00adable trousers, none of them over\u00adweight, none of them car\u00adry\u00ading or cajol\u00ading chil\u00addren or babies, none of them in wheel\u00adchairs or con\u00adnec\u00adted to oxy\u00adgen sup\u00adplies, none of them in high heels or flimsy dresses (or good suits, come to that). All were fit and able to jump on the slide without hes\u00adit\u00ada\u00adtion. In a plane car\u00adry\u00ading over 850 people, what pro\u00adpor\u00adtion will be in some way encumbered, and how big a dif\u00adfer\u00adence does that make to the evacuation?<\/p>\n<p>In a lot of ways the video reminded me of the films that are always being shot around Van\u00adcouver.
