Our tod\u00addler daugh\u00adter (18 months old) likes hav\u00ading books read to her. Some of them are def\u00adin\u00adite favour\u00adites, to be read as often as pos\u00adsible, while oth\u00aders are the ones she likes when she\u2019s told to go and get anoth\u00ader book. They\u2019re not neces\u00adsar\u00adily books I would choose myself, but it\u2019s not my taste that counts <grin>. The ver\u00adsions we have are mostly board\u00adbooks, well worth\u00adwhile at this age since she often sits on the floor and looks at her books on her own, and she can turn the board\u00adbook pages eas\u00adily enough that she does\u00adn\u2019t get frustrated.<\/p>\n
Her top favour\u00adites cur\u00adrently are We\u2019re Going on a Bear Hunt<\/a> by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxen\u00adbury (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>), I Love You With All My Heart<\/a> by Noris Kern (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>), and Moth\u00ader, May I?<\/a> by Grace Mac\u00adcar\u00adone (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>).<\/p>\n The next bunch of books also hold her atten\u00adtion for a bit, but she tends not to bring them over to be read as often as the books in the first group. Sandra Boyn\u00adton fea\u00adtures heav\u00adily here, and her books are small enough that the girl can hold them while she\u2019s being changed. They\u2019re fun to read as well, as they lend them\u00adselves to silly voices. We have Hip\u00adpos Go Ber\u00adserk<\/a> (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>), Barn\u00adyard Dance!<\/a> (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>), and Moo Baa La La La<\/a> (Pow\u00adell\u2019s link<\/a>). Round\u00ading out this are A. J.
