In the\u00adory I\u2019m mak\u00ading use\u00adful obser\u00adva\u00adtions of how people inter\u00adact with ser\u00advices and what value they get from them, but in real\u00adity I spend a bit more time watch\u00ading and read\u00ading than is needed for that. It\u2019s very easy to fol\u00adlow tweeted links and then find myself web-surf\u00ading, just like it was in the early days of the web, when we all watched what came up next on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncsa.uiuc.edu\/Projects\/mosaic.html\"><span class=\"caps\">NCSA<\/span> Mosa\u00adic<\/a>\u2019s \u201cWhat\u2019s New\u201d page. So it\u2019s a little iron\u00adic that John <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/frumioj\/statuses\/827972420\">tweeted<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulgraham.com\/distraction.html\">link<\/a> that made me more aware of the slip\u00adpery slope of online dis\u00adtrac\u00adtions, and poten\u00adtial ways to com\u00adbat them.
