Then they took it out, say\u00ading that Word\u00adPress itself gives you the choice. Well, maybe it does (or maybe it did), but nowhere in the options for 2.6.1 that I could find (maybe you need a plu\u00adgin to do it?). Then I dis\u00adcovered that this blo\u00adg\u2019s default feed had been changed to <span class=\"caps\">RSS2<\/span> some time when I was\u00adn\u2019t look\u00ading, which also was\u00adn\u2019t what I wanted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To jog my memory next time I upgrade Word\u00adPress and want to use Atom by default, here\u2019s where to change the set\u00adting. For\u00adtu\u00adnately <span class=\"caps\">PHP<\/span> code is easy to search through! The file is <code>feed.php<\/code> in the <code>wp-includes<\/code> dir\u00adect\u00adory. Change the second para\u00admet\u00ader in the <code>get_default_feed<\/code> func\u00adtion to <code>atom<\/code>. With\u00adin any luck this meth\u00adod will even con\u00adtin\u00adue to work in the next ver\u00adsion.
