Do I read blogs, or write my own entries? Do I knit, or surf Ravelry? Do I watch <span class=\"caps\">TV<\/span>, or read books? The pen\u00addu\u00adlum has recently been swinging too far in the wrong dir\u00adec\u00adtion; I\u2019ve been con\u00adsum\u00ading more than cre\u00adat\u00ading, tak\u00ading the easy, pass\u00adive way out to filling those spare minutes rather than think\u00ading about what I really want to achieve with them. It\u2019s so easy to just \u201ccheck what\u2019s out there\u201d, intend\u00ading it to be for a few minutes only, and find\u00ading the time stretches, like some ver\u00adsion of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Parkinson%27s_law\">Par\u00adkin\u00adson\u2019s law<\/a>, so that I\u2019ve accom\u00adplished noth\u00ading at the end of the even\u00ading. If I can\u00ad\u2019t remem\u00adber what I\u2019ve browsed, then was it worth read\u00ading? How much time should I spend on catch\u00ading up on what people I don\u2019t know&nbsp;think?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, my plan is to think about my activ\u00adit\u00adies more. If surf\u00ading, or read\u00ading feeds or tweets, then to do so delib\u00ader\u00adately, rather than drift\u00ading along for lack of think\u00ading about what I\u2019d really rather be doing. I\u2019ll try to use my judge\u00adment more often, in oth\u00ader words, to close the com\u00adputer and spend more time with the world that\u2019s phys\u00adic\u00adally present.
