I fully expect it all to be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>For the Cana\u00addians: If your team has lots of exper\u00adi\u00adence, make the most of it. Let some of those people expec\u00adted to play a major role in gov\u00adern\u00adment, should your side win, speak out on rel\u00adev\u00adant issues. The sys\u00adtem of \u201cshad\u00adow\u201d roles in the <span class=\"caps\">UK<\/span> works well to my mind, and would work well in Canada (tough to tell how it would work in the <span class=\"caps\">US<\/span>). Of course, it does assume that there are people run\u00adning for office who are cap\u00adable of becom\u00ading cab\u00adin\u00adet min\u00adis\u00adters and cap\u00adable of dis\u00adcuss\u00ading policy cogently in pub\u00adlic (and if the oth\u00ader side does\u00adn\u2019t, what bet\u00adter way of show\u00ading&nbsp;that?)<\/p>\n<p>Show respect to the oth\u00ader side (this is sorely lack\u00ading in the <span class=\"caps\">US<\/span> cam\u00adpaign). Each of the four major can\u00addid\u00adates in the <span class=\"caps\">US<\/span> cam\u00adpaign has shown them\u00adselves com\u00adpet\u00adent enough to build and win a cam\u00adpaign to get them where they are today. I can\u00ad\u2019t ima\u00adgine it\u2019s all that easy to become sen\u00adat\u00ador or gov\u00adernor in any state, which means all four have at least some degree of intel\u00adli\u00adgence, per\u00adspica\u00adcity, and capa\u00adcity for hard work (you can fight over how much all you want). Wheth\u00ader someone is like\u00adable or trust\u00adworthy, or has the right set of policies, is a dif\u00adfer\u00adent set of ques\u00adtions that does\u00adn\u2019t obvi\u00adate the need for respect.
