I\u2019ve nev\u00ader been to an all-women con\u00adfer\u00adence before and although I have mixed feel\u00adings (it is, after all, inher\u00adently dis\u00adcrim\u00adin\u00adat\u00adory to exclude men) I found it worth\u00adwhile. I met some very inter\u00adest\u00ading people and had a chance to think about some issues that I don\u2019t often run across in my daily pro\u00adject work, as well as a dif\u00adfer\u00adent per\u00adspect\u00adive on some issues such as risk man\u00adage\u00adment that are rel\u00adev\u00adant to my daily work. I also got the chance to try out play\u00ading golf for the first time as part of a net\u00adwork\u00ading event pre-con\u00adfer\u00adence, which was an exper\u00adi\u00adence that left my right upper arm\/shoulder sore for a couple of days after\u00adwards! Oh well, all par for the course as a golf new\u00adbie, I expect.<\/p>\n<p>One not\u00adable dif\u00adfer\u00adence to many oth\u00ader con\u00adfer\u00adences I\u2019ve atten\u00added: the lack of pos\u00adtur\u00ading. Most people there were genu\u00adinely inter\u00adested in dis\u00adcuss\u00ading the issues at hand rather than prov\u00ading how good they were (yes, there were excep\u00adtions, but they were few).
