Rel\u00adev\u00adant upselling (I\u2019m buy\u00ading a wash\u00ading machine, the per\u00adson says \u201cthis soap powder is spe\u00adcially designed to work with this style of wash\u00ading machine\u201d) is one thing. Irrel\u00adev\u00adant upselling, or upselling that takes more than one sen\u00adtence just annoys me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest example was, I call my bank about some\u00adthing this morn\u00ading. We fin\u00adish that trans\u00adac\u00adtion, I\u2019m ready to get back to work, when the woman starts talk\u00ading to me about who my long-dis\u00adtance phone pro\u00advider is and telling me about their offer\u00adings! This was\u00adn\u2019t rel\u00adev\u00adant to the pre\u00advi\u00adous trans\u00adac\u00adtion, she did\u00adn\u2019t ask if it was a good time, and she did\u00adn\u2019t even both\u00ader with the hitherto-oblig\u00adat\u00adory \u201cis there any\u00adthing else I can do for you today\u201d which used to be the stand\u00adard clos\u00ading formula.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hairdress\u00aders (and the beauty busi\u00adness in gen\u00ader\u00adal) are par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly prone to this; I just don\u2019t go back to estab\u00adlish\u00adments that upsell too&nbsp;hard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hate being upsold.
