The recipe is to put a bunch of geeks togeth\u00ader, give them a num\u00adber of rooms, feed them reg\u00adu\u00adlarly, and see what they come up&nbsp;with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There was an inter\u00adest\u00ading mix of geeks there, includ\u00ading those who write code. those who man\u00adage the pro\u00adcess, and those who write about it. There was also a bunch of O\u2019Reilly edit\u00adors observing what the geeks were talk\u00ading about, as well as show\u00ading us the cool books they are edit\u00ading or have just released. I met people whose names I knew and whose blogs I read, who don\u2019t come to the <span class=\"caps\">XML<\/span> con\u00adfer\u00adences, so I would\u00adn\u2019t nor\u00admally get a chance to meet them. There\u2019s some\u00adthing about being able to match up a per\u00adson with their blog, and get\u00adting some idea of wheth\u00ader their blog per\u00adsona matches their real persona.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There were some 12 rooms and the sched\u00adule was a self-arran\u00adging one, with people writ\u00ading on poster boards when they wanted to talk and what they wanted to talk about. Some ses\u00adsions were more like tra\u00addi\u00adtion\u00adal present\u00ada\u00adtions com\u00adplete with slides, while oth\u00aders were more of a <span class=\"caps\">BOF<\/span>. A lot was thought-pro\u00advok\u00ading; I\u2019ll be put\u00adting some of the thoughts down over the next little while when I\u2019ve recovered some of the sleep-deficiency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before I go, one of the favor\u00adite geek toys (par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly amongst the kids) was the rock\u00adet launch\u00ader.
