After I down\u00adloaded the OpenSol\u00adar\u00adis Web Stack pack\u00adage, MySQL was installed and run\u00adning, so it was more a mat\u00adter of tweak\u00ading. Little things like copy\u00ading the <em>\/etc\/mysql\/5.0\/my-huge.cnf<\/em> to <em>\/etc\/mysql\/my.cnf<\/em> so that the default con\u00adfig\u00adur\u00ada\u00adtion takes advant\u00adage of the 2 <span class=\"caps\">GB<\/span> of <span class=\"caps\">RAM<\/span>, for example.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve heard con\u00adflict\u00ading things about wheth\u00ader one needs a root pass\u00adword for MySQL, giv\u00aden that it uses the <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.opensolaris.com\/thread.jspa?messageID=2064\">Unix root iden\u00adtity<\/a> by default. After my years in secur\u00adity and iden\u00adtity I decided to <a href=\"http:\/\/dev.mysql.com\/doc\/refman\/5.1\/en\/default-privileges.html\">set one any\u00adway<\/a>, as recom\u00admen\u00added by the <a href=\"http:\/\/dev.mysql.com\/doc\/refman\/5.1\/en\/post-installation.html\">MySQL post-install\u00ada\u00adtion setup doc\u00adu\u00adment\u00ada\u00adtion<\/a>, even if it would be hard for any\u00adone to get into the machine to do any dam\u00adage, since it will be behind a firewall\/router. <\/p>\n<p>The next step was to move the Word\u00adPress-based sites. I decided to try the export\/import facil\u00adit\u00adies in Word\u00adPress, since I haven\u2019t tried those out before, and it meant being able to use a new MySQL data\u00adbase with no cruft in it. I set up new users for the spe\u00adcif\u00adic data\u00adbases, copied the files across with <code>rsync<\/code>, impor\u00adted the <span class=\"caps\">XML<\/span> file, and voila!
