I\u2019m writ\u00ading an art\u00adicle for the March issue of the Gil\u00adbane Report<\/a> on some of the uses of blogs and wikis in the cor\u00adpor\u00adate world. The Gil\u00adbane report appears monthly and con\u00adcen\u00adtrates on enter\u00adprise con\u00adtent man\u00adage\u00adment and related issues at a man\u00adage\u00adment level. It used to carry a fairly hefty sub\u00adscrip\u00adtion charge; since Janu\u00adary 2005 the art\u00adicles are now all avail\u00adable free of charge. I wrote an art\u00adicle for the Gil\u00adbane Report back in Octo\u00adber 2002; the curi\u00adous may wish to look at The Role of XML<\/span> in Con\u00adtent Man\u00adage\u00adment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As part of my research for this art\u00adicle, I\u2019d like to hear from any\u00adone who can tell me more about what blogs and wikis really are be used for in the cor\u00adpor\u00adate world. I have enough inform\u00ada\u00adtion about PR<\/span> aspects or, more gen\u00ader\u00adally, out\u00adward-facing aspects of using blogs, but not enough real inform\u00ada\u00adtion about real com\u00adpan\u00adies using blogs or wikis intern\u00adally. I asked about Using Blogs for Pro\u00adject Man\u00adage\u00adment<\/a> and got lots of \u201cnice idea but we could\u00adn\u2019t quite get it to work\u201d emails. I can think of lots of uses for blogs but what I\u2019d like to be able to high\u00adlight are things that people in com\u00adpan\u00adies are actu\u00adally find\u00ading use\u00adful, rather than nice ideas that might work. Ditto for wikis \u2014 they seem to have lots of poten\u00adtial but is any\u00adone real\u00adising that potential?<\/p>\n
