Key\u00adnotes set the tone of a con\u00adfer\u00adence, they indic\u00adate some\u00adthing of what the organ\u00adising com\u00admit\u00adtee is think\u00ading, or what they think the com\u00admunity that sup\u00adports the con\u00adfer\u00adence might want to hear about. This year, I wanted to find someone as a key\u00adnote speak\u00ader who could talk to us about the less sunny side of life, and remind us that some of the per\u00adson\u00adal stor\u00adies people share online aren\u2019t about good things hap\u00adpen\u00ading, they\u2019re about life hap\u00adpen\u00ading, and life isn\u2019t always fair, or easy. The rest of the organ\u00adising com\u00admit\u00adtee agreed, and we\u2019re glad that April Smith agreed to present. <a href=\"http:\/\/2011.northernvoice.ca\/storytelling-heart-city\">\u201cStorytelling From the Heart of the City\u201d<\/a> opens North\u00adern Voice on Fri\u00adday May&nbsp;13th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/2011.northernvoice.ca\/dial-modems-post-social-media\">Sat\u00adurday key\u00adnote<\/a> is a dif\u00adfer\u00adent slant on the web, from Chris Wilson, who\u2019s played a key role in build\u00ading many of the web tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgies we use every day. I\u2019m not actu\u00adally sure what he\u2019s going to talk about, but I have no doubt it will be an inter\u00adest\u00ading view of the web world so many of us now inhab\u00adit, sprinkled with inter\u00adest\u00ading anec\u00addotes. I\u2019m look\u00ading for\u00adward to&nbsp;it!<\/p>\n<p>Two key\u00adnotes, two dif\u00adfer\u00adent slants on what the web enables, two dif\u00adfer\u00adent jour\u00adneys.
